énergie Fitness, Ireland’s fast-growing, national low-cost, high-value fitness franchise has signalled significant expansion plans following an injection of €3.5 million into the Irish market. A further €3million is ear marked for growth in the NI and Scottish market, with the group exploring European markets such as Poland in the months ahead.
With 20 franchise locations, already operating throughout parts of Ireland, the company has announced plans to have upwards of 12 additional locations open or in development through strategic franchise partnerships in the next year. This would create 120 local jobs and 48 self-employed opportunities; plus, see membership numbers increase from 25,000 to over 40,000.
Speaking on énergie Fitness’ plans, Ireland’s Managing Director Jim Durie says: “We’re serious about shaking up the fitness landscape in Ireland and really building up our franchise network. The other gyms in the market don’t offer the same value and support as energie Fitness. We make fitness affordable through a proven business model that is built on delivering members, and owners alike, the quality and value they deserve.
“When we are speaking with individuals wishing to undertake franchising, we always say that this the only business model that is profitable from the moment you open the door.
“Through years of experience and research, we know what works. We make it our business to understand the end user. And, it is this knowledge that has allowed us to devise a model that, regardless of your own background and experience, can support you across all levels. For instance, you may be from a business background but have no fitness experience, we can provide that and vice versa.
“From our pre-opening support, site selection, design, construction, financing, training, and a grand-opening program; to our ongoing support with training, marketing, management and growth, at énergie Fitness we work hand and hand with all our franchisees to ensure success.”
Current franchisees within the énergie Fitness group are from a plethora of backgrounds; accountants, investors, managers, franchisees in other sectors, entrepreneurs, housewives, fitness teachers; demonstrating that franchising as a business model appeals to all with the right entrepreneurial spirit.
Jim adds: “In the coming years, there will be opportunities for single and multi-unit investors to operate one of our three models. An initial investment of €35,000 is required, with a total of €140,000 needed. However, we will provide guidance on further funding avenues. All our current franchises are locally-owned and the majority witness a return on investment within 18-20 months.
“As a brand, we are confident in our position. We’ve taken the right steps to set up our brand for success and welcome any interested single or multi-unit investors to learn more about our future franchise growth plans.”
