Cult favourite, Boojum, will open a new store in Tallaght’s The Square Shopping Centre this Spring.

The famous Mexican burrito bar is kickstarting 2024 with a bang by announcing two new store openings, one of which sees the launch of their first ever GB restaurant in Leeds, which will open in April.

Boojum, which was founded in 2007, already has fifteen stores across Ireland, eight of which are in Greater Dublin, with potential for more due to phenomenal demand. The company also has a presence in Cork, Limerick, and Galway, as well as its native Belfast.

The Tallaght location will create thirty new jobs, including both part-time and full-time positions, and will be Boojum’s third out-of-town site, following on from Blanchardstown and Liffey Valley. The latter, only opening in October, is a clear indication that Boojum is going from strength to strength within Dublin and beyond.

The restaurant will be situated within the previous Wow Burger unit, with an expected opening date in early Spring. Boojum fanatics will be able to enjoy sit-in, takeaway, click ‘n’ collect and delivery services, expanding the company’s reach across Greater Dublin.

Speaking following the announcement of the new Tallaght store, Boojum Managing Director, David Maxwell, said, “The demand for Boojum in Dublin has blown us away, and we are so thankful to our loyal customers for keeping us busy. When we opened Liffey Valley in October, we didn’t expect to open another Dublin store so soon, but we quickly realised that the demand was too high in the other surrounding areas to ignore.”

“We are really excited to be opening in Tallaght which is a fantastic area with a lot going on, and working with the team at The Square has been energising, so we knew this was the right move.”

Freda O’Donnell of Sigma Retail Partners said, “When Boojum approached us about potentially opening a store within the centre we were excited at the opportunity. Boojum is hugely popular here in Dublin, and we are delighted that we can help ensure that it is easier than ever for the residents of Tallaght to get their Boojum fix.”

“There is definitely a buzz around The Square ahead of the opening. Boojum is something that you can be in the mood for at any time of day, whether that is at lunch, dinner, for a fun date night, or even before a trip to Movies@ The Square, and so it will be a great addition to the centre.”

Boojum currently employs over four hundred staff to work across their fifteen stores in Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Galway, and this will continue to rise as the company continues their expansion across the UK and Ireland in 2024.
