Local businessmen Rory O’Shaughnessy is opening his second Fit4Less club this month in Citywest, in partnership with Harry McCreary. Following a €250,000 investment, énergie’s smart affordable gym concept will now become available to local people in Citywest, encouraging them to get active, supported by a team of highly-experienced health professionals. Fit4Less Citywest has sold over 1000 memberships during its six-week pre-sale and the opening has created six local jobs.

Rory returned to Ireland in 2015, following a five-year period in Australia where he operated a successful Subway franchise. Now back on Irish soil, Rory has invested in énergie’s Fit4less brand, bringing the state-of-the-art offering to Citywest. Rory is no stranger to the énergie Fit4less brand, having previously opened the highly popular, énergie Fit4less in Drimnagh in collaboration with business partner, Ross Norton. Citywest sees Rory collaborate with friend and experienced businessman Harry McCreary, who has a keen interest in entrepreneurship and looks forward to pairing that with his interest in fitness.

The modern, 7,200 sq ft gym in Citywest Shopping Centre boasts Precor’s most advanced equipment, including personal Wi-Fi that allows allowing gym members to watch their favourite shows on Netflix as they work out. The facility also houses a large free weights area, a functional training zone and a huge 2500 sq ft private studio. Members have access to over 30 classes a week, free of charge.

Gym owner, Rory O’Shaughnessy said: “Upon returning to Ireland I was interested in investing in a new franchise opportunity. énergie Fitness, owners of the Fit4Less brand in Ireland, stood out to me as the most support-focused franchise model available. Everyone in the Citywest has been so welcoming and supportive. I am extremely excited to encourage the local community to overcome barriers to fitness and to help them reach their fitness goals, and I’m looking forward to inviting Harry into the Fit4Less franchise too.”

Franchisee and owner, Harry McCreary said: “Having directed numerous companies across Dublin, I saw this as a great new project to be involved in with Rory. I’ve always had a keen interest in entrepreneurship as well as fitness, so bringing the two together is very exciting. The quarter of a million-pound investment has provided us with the ability to offer affordable, high quality, gym services to locals of the Citywest area, and we’ve seen a huge need for this service here, as over 1000 memberships have been obtained before we doors have been opened.”

Fit4less Citywest employ a qualified team of instructors, each with their own special skillset, helping people achieve their goals. Memberships are available monthly for €24.99 or on annual subscription for €259 – reduced to €229 as part of an opening offer. Each membership plan includes unlimited access to all gym facilities, free classes and an induction programme.
